I'm trying to get better with doing regular posts on this here blog. I'm really not sure why it's so difficult for me to find time to do a quick post!!! It's not like I have a job! :) (which by the way, I'm STILL loving that!). I wonder if I'll ever get bored of it. Today Seb met up with his Monday playmates, Leo and Niva. Fun was had by all. What was really funny was to see my child NOT partake in ring around the rosie. He was way too cool for that! Or maybe it's because his mom just hasn't taught him how to do that..... Ooops! Guess I dropped the ball there! He wasn't having any of it!
I'm on a butterfly!!!
How we managed to get three kids to sit still for more than a second is beyond me!!!! Aren't they the cutest???
Here are some more pics per fan (aka family) requests! Here you go!
Yes, that's Seb's finger up my nose
We take the trike everywhere! Even the grocery store!
Gymboree pals, Dane and Olivia!
Pool party with Ainslee this past weekend. It's getting hot already!
Family Mak Attack drove up to Dtown to celebrate Easter 2012. It will definitely go down in the Maki history books as one of MY favorites! :) Seb had an absolute blast searching for Easter eggs in the house. It was raining off and on so we had to do it in Babcia Monika's casa. We stuffed them full of M&M's that were brought in by Ciocia Evone and Uncle Gavin. These were some very cute and very eggstra special M&M's and boy did Sebastian go to town on them! This was by far the most chocolate this kid has ever had in his life!
This was after chocolate time...Hyper Seb!
I'm in a Chocolate Coma!!!!
On Saturday Babcia had to work so Mom and Dad took Seb to the museum. Thumbs up to the museum!!!

To bring you up to date on some things with Sebastian:
1)He no longer likes the YMCA. I have gone back twice now and he has balled each time. There was approximately 30-40 toddlers there the other day that I just couldn't even leave him for more than 5 minutes. Needless to say, I did NOT work out that day. I was traumatized and of course Sebastian was fine the minute I picked him up! Here is the aftermath picture:
Not happy!
2) Sebastian is talking more and more each day. To date, here are all the words he has said to date (most of them he just started saying about 2 weeks ago!):
cheese
keys
please - he signs this one all the time
dada
mama
shoes
cat
dog
drill
uh-oh - one of his faves
eye
hi
bye
more
duck
All kinds of Animal sounds
Boat
Of course most of these words are all in Seb speak. You know, the kind only his mama and dada understand. It's kinda cool having your own little language!
Can you tell what I'm saying here? Mommy gives it away!
His absolute favorite word is dada (probably because that's his favorite person in the world!!!) He is absolutely OBSESSED with daddy for the moment. Dad just finished a brick project in our back patio and Sebastian helped. Here is a bloody nose to prove it!
Shoveling dirt is a tough job! Waaa!
3. Seb likes to stay up late. This past week, Seb got to stay up the latest ever since he started sleeping through the night! He didn't go to bed until 8:30 pm!!! And it wasn't even the weekend! He got to see his friend Abby and they cuddled in her hammock. Lovebirds....Ah! I need more of this kind of black mail material! It was fun to see Kalin, Jen and Matt. And I got to score an awesome risotto recipe! Thanks Jen!
She's my girl
4. Sebastian took his first Music Together class and Spanish demo class. We won't be signing up for Spanish quite yet. He's too young but the class gave me a lot of ideas on how to incorporate the language in our everyday tasks. He absolutely loved the music class. There were about 8 other kids there and he went up to each one of them and tried to hug some of them. My shy guy has turned into a social butterfly! He was bouncing up and down and moving all around. Too bad it's $240 for 10 weeks! The only reason I did it this time was because I got it on a $100 special through Groupon. Love me some Groupon! That being said, we'll be going back to Lainie's Music class very soon! Leo, will you be waiting for us?!?!
I used to love working out. There was a time in my life I would get up at 6 am to do my Tae-Bo videos with my man Billy Blanks...Yep, I was one of "them" everyday worker outers. Hyped up on an endorphin high, going to bed at 10 pm, waking up early so I could get my "high." It was my little addiction. Hey, better than cigarettes, right?
Then, bam! I had a baby and everything changed. Slowly but surely I stopped working out completely. Aaaaannnnd, I have to admit......it's been pretty AWESOME! I never thought I would enjoy NOT working out so much. Thanks Sebastian. Thank you for these past 17 months of excuse after excuse not to hit the gym. It's been a much needed break from the insanity of scheduling my whole day around a workout.
HOWEVER, in the past few weeks, I have had this little annoying voice in my head that just won't stop telling me to do something good for myself. Yes, it's difficult to get motivated. But I'm ready......ready for something new and different. Ready to get my Billy on!
So, we signed up. At the YMCA. 2 miles from home. Awesome 6 minute drive.
If you would have asked me 5 years ago whether I would be a member of this place I would have laughed and not thought twice of it. Well, five years later, here I am! I didn't even request a tour because I went on one when Sebastian was still in my womb. Why did it take me 17 months to come back? Well, no one ever tells you the mama instinct you immediately get once that baby pops out of you. There was no way I was going to let some stranger touch my bebe!
Well, not until now, at least. Mama must work out! I did visit the child care room and to my surprise they were willing to watch Sebastian while I filled out the paperwork. Uh oh. First time with an absolute stranger. How was Seb going to fair? Was he going to make it? Was I going to make it? Would he cry profusely until I came back? Would I cry? Oh geez! Was I ready for this? And right before I was able to answer those questions, Enga from Hungary (yes, that's her real name) scooped Seb up and took him from me. I was able to say Bye, of course. Seb looked very confused and did not say bye back. He didn't cry so I took that as my chance to flee......immediately. I didn't want it to be a difficult departure. I was gone for approximately 30 minutes. Sheesh! The paperwork this place makes you fill out! I practically ran back to the child care room and noticed Seb right away playing with a highchair. The two ladies working behind the counter couldn't have made me feel any better. They kept saying he did awesome and didn't even cry once. He went back and played with the kids almost immediately. Phew! Sigh of relief. When he saw me he looked happy...walked right over to me..smiled..no crying!! I grabbed my baby, held him close and just as soon as I did, I realized a nasty smell. I know this smell. I don't like this smell. A poopy diaper. Aw! Man! Really?! Get used to it YMCA ladies! This baby poops like 4 times a day!
(I didn't have a camera with me, so no photo op but I will get one at our first "official" drop off!) God, I'm excited!
