My Mr. Independent

Sebastian has ALWAYS been very independent. He usually likes to do things himself, but especially now more than ever. Last week, he decided that he wanted to eat dinner out of the muffin pan...naked:

How does he come up with these ideas??? It's so funny to witness.

I drove to Dallas this past weekend for one of Ciocia Evone's baby showers. We drove an hour out to a little town called Justin where her friend Melissa lives. I swear there's no more than 20 people living there. It was sooooo quiet.  On the way there, we saw a variety of true Texas ranches, cows, old beat up trucks, a train in the middle of downtown, and possibly an armadillo. Ok, I made that last one up, but it makes the story better so just go with it.  My sis is in her 33rd week and is ready to have Mr. Twiglet arrive NOW! Check out the baby room with proud mommy and daddy! Gavin painted it all by himself!  Look, even Daddy owl has a  camo tshirt on!

I'm throwing my sis a shower on the weekend of the 28th and I just placed the order for the shower cake balls (request by mommy to be). I'm super excited cuz they are the cutest ever!!!
I personally like the fact that there are more happy and sleepy faces than crying ones. I hope that's a foreshadow for my sis' future!

Lastly, we FINALLY had our first ever kid pool party! And it was a success! Look at these cuties. And check out my undressed child. At least he has a diaper on!

Snuggling up to my future wife

Kisses

She said yes!!!

Sebastian, you are such the lady's man. I know you really, really like Niva right now. Can you continue this trend so you can marry her so then her mama and me can plan wedding showers, baby showers and parties for you two? Great, thanks!

So many milestones, one little note

Oh! How I've missed you blog. It's been a whirlwind of activity in the Mak Attack household.   Where do I even begin? It seems as though it was just yesterday that I was updating our Easter get away...Alas, it's been a while!

In the past few months Seb has experienced so many new and exciting adventures. To start off, on Easter weekend he found out that he was going to have a COUSIN! That's right, my big sis is having a baby!

Evone and Gavin gave everyone an egg with a hidden message underneath it, this is what the message read!

FINALLY! And it's a BOY!!!!!  These two are gonna tear up our houses. I can't wait!  It's been so much fun chatting and texting with her about this crazy (and fulfilling) life she's about to inherit. Evone, you're gonna love it! We are thrilled! And so very thankful you took all of our baby stuff right before we moved.

A pic of ciocia at around 26 weeks in front of her new staircase in her new house.

We closed on our Orangewood house on July 18th and ever since then I feel like I've stepped into a time tunnel that's caused time to speed up exponentially.  Since then Seb has spent Father's day at the Longhorn Caverns:

All by myself!

Swinging on the swing right before the cavern tour

Attended one of the coolest birthday parties ever for his pal Fafa (Niva):

This yellow bird is freaky!

Hung out with the crew:
I'm outta here!

Hold my hat, will ya?

Spent some three days with ciocia and Uncle Gavin while mommy and daddy moved casas:
Our new house

Our first project: cleaning up a dead tree branch

flew to Montana to visit paw paw, Susan (he calls grandma Susan because he can't quite pronounce grandma yet), and Uncle Mike:

Eating salmon!!

We are sooooo color coordinated

Sold items at his first ever garage sale:

had 3 stitches put in from tripping and falling on the coffee table:
It was about 3 mm wide

Look ma, I'm a doctor!

Ah! Powerade tastes soooo good!

Celebrated mom and dad's 5th anniversary at Bartlett's:
Go us!

Gimme them french fries!

I want french fries, not pasta!

Celebrated another awesome birthday party for Leo. Look at this cake!

Diggin'

AAAAND peed on the potty!!!!

Seb was sitting on the couch after drinking half a cup of milk and showed me the potty sign. I asked him if he needed to use the potty and he said yes. So, i took his duck potty out and instead of sitting on the potty, he put Mr. Blue in it. Pat and I chuckled and thought that was a clever little trick. HOWEVER, after playing around with Mr. Blue, Seb sat on the ducky himself and pee peed and then yelled for his potty book! This is now deemed the potty "bible" in the Maki household, of course! It has stickers in it and I let him choose one. I could tell he was very proud of himself.  Theeeen, he asked to go again but ran to the bathroom and sat on his big boy potty. How he knew to do this, is beyond me.

Preschool's first day was two Thursday's ago (I really am going to try to update these blog posts sooner, I promise) and he absolutely loved it! Ms. Suzy is amazing. She has a degree from UT and has been teaching at the preschool for over 3 years. I feel very blessed that Karen found this place! Thanks Karen from saving me from doing a lot of preschool research :)  This preschool is part of Crestview United Methodist Church. It was built in the 60's and has such a charming atmosphere. The best part is that's it's .8 miles away from the house!!  Bike rides to school, here we come!  Seb did so well. He didn't cry at all when Pat and I left. And furthermore, he didn't ask for Sali the WHOLE ENTIRE time he was there!

Are you gonna leave me here???

Yes!  A Phone!

Ms. Suzy and my boy

What a summer it has been! Today was the first cooler day of the season. It only reached 91!  Can't wait for fall......
