-David Bowie
I'm convinced this song is about David Bowie's experience with his growing son. Strange changes are a happening with Seb:
Number One: Our once "easy to fall asleep snoozer" has suddenly become afraid of the dark??? I have not the slightest clue why. It may have been spawned by us leaving him in Dallas with Babcia for a whole 6 days. Regardless, he demands to leave the door open with the hallway light on at bedtime. Each bed and nap time has become an ordeal. He cries every single time he goes down now. Why, I wonder??? He woke up at midnight last night crying and we did the usual: Go into his bedroom every 10 minutes, pat him on his back and leave the room. He drew it out for almost and hour and a half. I was ready to bring him into our bed but Pat wisely reminded me that the last time we tried that Seb kept kicking and hitting me in the face.
Number Two: Whilst at Babcia's house, he slept in his playpen. One night he decided to jump out of it....and then did it again but this time it was out of his crib at home. How he did it, I have no clue! He hasn't tried it since but boy was I surprised to find him in the living room behind me!
Number Three: He's talking in two word sentences. His first phrase: "No more!" He didn't want anymore spaghetti and meatballs two nights ago and so he adamantly refused. That's my boy, he knows what he wants. Or in this case, what he doesn't!
Number Four: He LOVES doing the dishes. This one I will hone and perhaps he will become my maid one day. Ha! In my dreams!
Number Five: He's in a mommy phase. What? Me? Really? He's always been such a man's man. However, again....after this trip, he's become quite clingy with me. I don't mind this change. Not one bit! :)
Speaking of the "trip." Pat and I had our first "real" solo vacation. Wow! I never thought 6 days could fly by so quickly without a child around. It was WONDERFUL even though I missed Sebastian SOOOO much. We stayed at an all inclusive in Playa del Carmen. Drinks, food, entertainment all paid for. Ah! The life! I even found a Starbucks:
People keep asking me, "So, what did you do?" I didn't do a thing! We left the resort only once to see the downtown and that's it. We ate every two hours, slept a lot, laid out under a hut, and read books. Oh! And we drank....a little bit.

Coatimundi outside our hotel room. So cute!
While we were away, our remodel began. It's almost complete! We are just waiting for floor tile, countertops and appliances to be put in. No kitchen = no cooking.....not a bad trade off.

Demo begins!

Almost done!
