New beginnings to an end
After almost 8 years at Nationwide, I have decided to quit my job to be a full time stay at home mommy! I'm so blessed to have this opportunity to be with you, Sebastian. I never thought that this is where I would be at 31, but here I am! No one ever tells you how much fun it is to be a mom. I guess it's just one of those things one has to experience to really understand what it means to be in love with your baby. Quitting my job was liberating but at the same time, a bit frightening. I'm giving up a disposable income and freedom that comes with an extra salary. Phew! I've battled with financial security ever since I started living on my own. It's always been so important to me since I grew up quite poor and understand the burden it places on a family. I have always had the feeling that money guarantees security that nothing else can fulfill. Dad has widened that view point for me though. He's such an amazing man like that. He has this uncanny ability to make me believe in the opposite of my fears. What I mean by that is he pushes me to be a better woman. To think beyond any personal obstacles I've laid out for myself. I'm so very lucky to have met him. You know, he courted me for quite some time until I was ready to give myself to him fully. Again, he knew exactly what I needed and catered to that. I hope you become a man like your daddy one day, honey. I already see little traits in you that resemble him. Specifically, your sense of curiosity. You are so curious these days. For instance, today you examined the jack in the box for ten straight minutes. You even tried to stuff the monkey back into it. You are really into vacuums, brooms and fluffy animals right now. It's so cute. Just recently you started cuddling up to Mr. Bear. You have a night time ritual that I hope stays around for a while. We usually give you a bath, give you your night time milk and then you horse around with daddy for about 15 minutes and plop right down onto Mr. Bear and cuddle with him while watching The Wheel of Fortune. I wonder if Pat Sajak and Vanna White will still be on when you get to be my age.
